All MFHS new recruits, current state humane agents and investigators are required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of online training. All new recruits must complete at least 3 months field training and pass an exam. All agents are required to continue education/training via the courses offered to them throughout the year. All agents are required to review Minnesota State and Federal Animal Welfare Laws regularly.
We are not currently conducting in person training seminars at this time and instead have and are continuing to develop and offer webinars specifically designed for Minnesota Law Enforcement, current appointed MFHS State Humane Agents and new recruits. Each one hour session will provide 1 hour of continuing education credit to those who qualify.
When available, dates and times for training webinars are posted here on our MFHS website, on our MFHS Facebook and MFHS State Humane Agent group pages. Invitations to register for the webinars will be emailed to Minnesota Law Enforcement and MFHS State Humane Agents at least 2 weeks in advance and/or posted on our MFHS State Humane Agent group page. Register early to make sure you get a virtual seat as space is limited. Stay tuned.
